Is there a program for remote "view" (not Remote Desktop)

We just bought our son a new computer (he's 11). I have installed McAfee Privacy Service to limit his internet activity and have locked XP down to where he cannot install programs without me. I have successfully installed the networking and Remote Desktop so I don't always have to go sit in his room if he has a problem (quite beneficial when I'm watching my 2 year old - I did some problem-solving/tweaking from my laptop while feeding my daughter dinner recently, I just think that's cool).

However, I am wondering if there is a program out there that would allow me to passively watch his desktop. This would not be for everyday use, I would just like to have it "just in case". It's not that I don't trust him, it's that I want to protect him. Someone told me our work network has the ability to do that, even without our knowledge.

You could try one of the VNC based options like ... http://www.softpanorama.org/Xwindows..._windows.shtml

It will do full remote desktop control, but you can also just use it to view the session.

RealVNC has a free unencrypted version, which would be fine if all the monitoring is to be done within your own LAN.

Remote Admin is awesome and does that too (viewer), however its not free. I like it much more than VNC though.

http://www.radmin.com/products/radmin/index.php

Also gives you a commandline on the remote computer, file transfer etc etc.
