Random "Hi" emails?

I have gotten a few e-mails in the past few days from what looks to be random addresses. There is no subject, and the body just says "hi" or "good day". I did a search on google for it and found this but I don't think this is what it is, cause the e-mails I'm getting don't have attachments. Also, my e-mail scanner is saying that nothing was detected.

Anyone have any ideas?

Your ISP could have set-up a filter to get rid of attachments on emails that are suspicious like that. Or your ISP could simply have a virus detector before the mail even gets to you and is taking care of the problem. My ISP does that for old viruses, but sometimes new ones pass through.

Another possibility is that the emails are trying to validate certain email addresses as being active, in an effort to be able to market to them at a later date. The best thing to do is to just delete it without replying. If there wasn't an attachment, I wouldn't let it bother you too much.

ya, there are no attachments, and I usually do delete them. I just hate it cause I know every time I get one of those, my address has been added to another spam list.
