Need some help with Excel.. (merging & stuff)

hi y'all.

I've got this messy document with a bunch of columns and stuff that's well, not any where NEAR being neat..

I need to figure out a way to make it nice and neat..
an example of what I have is..

COLUMN A B C D E F G

9123456789 JOHN DOE CG 6425 1 3/09/06 10 1 05.50 AC COU NT TOTALS 1 .50 .00

some of the columns have more info ..
anyways each column is messy and I need to figure out how to pretty much I need to get the dollar amounts in multiple columns together in one column some how.. does this make sense to anybody?

not sure if there's a way...but if there is thanks for anybody's help..

Do you want to add the dollar amounts in each row together into a new column, or do you just want to show the different values from each row in a single column?

Import it as a space delimited file.

You can use a concatenate formula.

Pilot, I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Can you explain more?

ok I explained it badly..here's a screencap ... as you can see, it's a disaster..I need to ..well..make it better than that..blacked out columns on the left are more data, but I've removed as to not put anybodys personal information..the way you see it is how I was given it ..

thanks for the help everyone.

mostly what i need is just everything in its OWN column (if possible) or at least someway to make it better looking so most of the stuff is in it's own column and stuff..

Do the header rows repeat a whole bunch? Clean-up likely won't be easy and you'll have to do a mixture of text to columns and concatenate formulas. Maybe someone else has a simpler, quicker solution.

In Row 8; columns C & D...should that info be in a single cell?

row 8 should be

CG 6425 1 3/09/06 10 105.50
instead it's
CG 6425 1 3/09/06 10 1 05.05

basicly my biggest problem is I need the last number under EPT in F to be in the G column ...instead of 3 numbers..there should be 2..it's probably not possible without a long ass time of modifying by hand (its like 30-40 pages of that) ..but it couldn't hurt to ask..

Have you tried bringing the file in as Fixed Width and drawing your columns in instead of using a delimiter? You can email me if it is easier than going back and forth on here:

[email protected]

Do you have any experience w/ Access?
