Icons for IE6 missing

Icons for IE6 missing
Can't find info on this anywhere so thought someone here might know.
Firstly I'm not talking about favicons, just the icon that displays to the left of the sites name in my favorites list.
usually the icon is shown as a small folder? with 2 dots in it and not the normal " blue E ". Sometimes the blue E is there, but reverts back.
I can change the icon by right clicking on it etc. but it changes back again.
Probably no big deal, just bugs me I guess.
