Wireless bridge question

I have a wireless router on the main floor of my house. In the basement I have a workbench where I tinker on computers but it's getting obnoxious putting either the PCI or USB wireless cards I have in over and over and having to install drivers - these aren't permanent setups.

Would THIS work good to catch the signal and give me a wired output? Or would something else be better? Reason for this particular unit, looks like it would work, the router is a D-Link Extreme G too.

And could this thing be attached to the input on a wired router to have more than one wired line out in that room?

Yeah, that should work. To get more than one port, you wouldn't use a wired router, though, you'd use a regular switch.
