Assistance with Excel Formula Calculation

I'm working on making a simple log to track my poker session for this year. At the bottom of the spreadsheet I have a totals section. For each row in the spreadsheet, I have a Start of Session column and an End of Session Column - both of which are formated as a time value (i.e. 13:30) Next to that, I have a column labeled Session Duration, which is formated the same way.

I also have a column labeled Net which includes my total winnings/losses for the session; this is formated as a currency value.

I would like to take these numbers and use to them to calculate an average hourly win/loss rate. I tried taking the total value in the Net column and dividing it by the total value in the Session Duration column, but it throws back an incorrect number (ex. Session Duration = 6:00 divided by Net win of $136 should equal $22.67. However the formula is reported $544.00)?

I am thinking it has something to do with the way the time columns are formated, but cannot figure out how to get it to accurately calculate. If anyone can lend a hand, it would be appreciated!

Edit: Changed $196 to $136

6pm - 4pm = 2am
2am = 2 * 0.041666667 = .08333334

$100 / 2am * .04166667 = $50

$196 / 6am = $784 * .04166667 = $32.67

Probably best to use NOT use the time function. Enter them as "Numbers" with two decimal places. For 1:45 p.m., enter 13.75. For 7:45 p.m., enter 19.75. Then the duration will be 6.00. No problem when you divide.

I think you mis-typed - $196 / 6 = should be $32.67 winnings per hour.

Anyway, an easy solution that seems to work (but you can test it more) is to divide the result of your calculation by 24.

Example: start = 11:00; end = 17:00; winnings = $196.

17:00 minus 11:00 = 6:00.
answer = ($196/6:00)/24 (which equals $32.67)

That seemed to do the trick, thanks! As for my mis-type, I forgot to subtract out the $60 dollars that I bought in. So my net should actually be $136 / 6.

Thanks again!
