computer problem

Hope someone can help with this. I have a computer that when you boot up it goes to a blue sreen that has a message that claims that a recently installed program is causing a problem. It claims i should contact the manufacturer of the program. the only problem is that I have not recently installed a program. the message continues and on the bottom it states that there is a storage dump and there is a counter counting up to 100. When 100 is achieved the computer reboots. Has anyone seen this before? What can I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Please make any advice easy to follow, as I am not very computer savy (sp?).
thanks again.

Sounds like a virus or something. Do you have your windows disks? If so maybe a repair or boot from disk is in order. Good luck with that.

Can you start up in safe mode and run a virus scanner?
