comcast webmail: "report as spam"

is that button just a decoration?

For four years, my comcast account was 99% spam free, but in the past month, I'm getting about 10-20 junk emails a day.

It seems like it most of the time. An email might get blocked on one day and gets through on another day. I can tolerate a few spams a day, but I was bombarded with 80 of them today. Ugh. I hate their webmail interface because it's super slow. I log onto maybe once a month to clear out my spam and I had about 1500 emails sitting in the Spam folder waiting to be emptied.

I accidentally reported dvdtalk forum responses as spam about 1-2 years ago and I quit getting the email responses to my subscribed threads. It took me 2 weeks to get it straightened out.

The button helps, they probably do batch updates so you won't see it done immediately. I know the one in yahoo helps as I don't get ANY spam in my inbox anymore... my bulk box is a different story.

my latest one is:

"Re: racemose concupiscence"

in the "To:" field, it says "Jacinda Ridley" <[email protected]>

my name is not even close to "Jacinda Ridely"

I always hit it and it seems to do nothing. I still get like 7-8 of those emails daily.

I never used to get spam in my inbox and now I'm getting around 10 a day atleast. I'm almost using more time "reporting as spam" than I am reading my legit emails.

I go in every few hours from work and there's 1 or 2 waiting for me. At home my email is through Outlook, so I can't report them.

I never use my comcast email for anything and give out to virtually no one (except my dad, which was a mistake, since he is one of those "forward the same email to 80 people" types). No spam for the first year, then 1 or 2, now 30 or so everytime I log in (I just delete them all). I'm not even really sure why I check that email, since everything I get there is garbage.

I'm starting to wonder if Comcast is behind it.
