So FF 1.5 has been officially released for those interested.
I installed it ... now how do I get my scroll bars back?

The first bug I noticed is: java applets don't show up in 1.5
edit: it's one of my extensions, firefox works fine in safe mode

* Faster browser navigation with improvements to back and forward button performance.
* Drag and drop reordering for browser tabs.
* Improvements to popup blocking.
* Clear Private Data feature provides an easy way to quickly remove personal data through a menu item or keyboard shortcut.
* Answers.com is added to the search engine list.
* Improvements to product usability including descriptive error pages, redesigned options menu, RSS discovery, and "Safe Mode" experience.
* Better accessibility including support for DHTML accessibility and assistive technologies such as the Window-Eyes 5.5 beta screen reader for Microsoft Windows. Screen readers read aloud all available information in applications and documents or show the information on a Braille display, enabling blind and visually impaired users to use equivalent software functionality as their sighted peers.
* Report a broken Web site wizard to report Web sites that are not working in Firefox.
* Better support for Mac OS X (10.2 and greater) including profile migration from Safari and Mac Internet Explorer.
* New support for Web Standards including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6.
* Many security enhancements.

I installed this earlier, and Norton Internet Security/Norton Anti-Virus won't let me access anything. Everytime I try to update Norton to allow FF 1.5 NIS locks down.
I'm fed up with Norton at this point. I tried the fix on FF's support forum website, but since NIS locks down there's nothing I can do.
However, when the browser runs w/ Norton turned "off" I have no problems with it.

A piece of advice:
If you are upgrading from an older Firefox version be VERY diligent about upgrading the themes and extensions to the browser. Older themes and extensions cause funny things like scroll bars to vanish and ad-blocking to work extremely erratically.

for those w/ extensions that don't work anymore w/ 1.5 (like my fav Super DragAndGo), download/install the extension Nightly Tester Tools. You will then be able to download your old extensions again and have them installed without checking the compatibility.

I installed it and Firefox raped my childhood.
Nah, actually its working perfectly. I added the adblock and script blocking features and they work really well and are easy to customize.

One very annoying "feature":
Why do I have to manually check "clear private data" every time I exit Firefox? Furthermore, is there a way to uncheck the grayed out option to "Ask me before clearing Private Data?"
Any help on this annoying problem would be appreciated. Registry Hack? Hidden Option? This wasn't a problem with Firefox 1.07.

I've been using 1.5 for a day or so and have one annoyance. I had like 6 tabs open on the browser yesterday and I closed it without closing each tab beforehand. noe every time I start the browser every one of those tabs load up. how can I get this to stop?
