Meebo.com - AIM+MSN+Yahoo+ICQ... All without a client!

www.meebo.com

Web-based client lets you chat on ICQ, AIM, MSN, or Yahoo! Tried it briefly and seemed a bit slow but if it continues it should do really well. It'll definitely be what I use when I'm on someone else's machine.

Thanks The Bus - this is awesome... good for those at work where the other web clients are blocked. It is, however, fairly slow - especially when logging off.

Better than nothing though!

This is nice, but yes, I found that it might not be a good idea to logon from their page

Now that MEEBO is coming to an end as it's been bought out by Google, what other similar web based IM clients are there?

The last time I used AIM was my senior year of college.

Text messaging has become the norm on how I communicate with others: friends, family and co-workers.

The closest I come, other than texts, is Whatsapp. It's very convenient to communicate among friends with the group chat function of it.

However for a web based IM client, I also cannot remember the last time I used one.

I still use IM with a buddy. Easier than text for conversations, plus doesn't use up messages.

I tried a few and all of them sucked. Meebo was almost perfect.

Right now I'm using the actual Windows Live Messenger, and not using Yahoo.

Re: Meebo.com - AIM+MSN+Yahoo+ICQ... All without a client!

I set people up in the office with AIM and while the company would rather have us use Office Communicator that's tied into our networked Outlook, I'd rather value my privacy to a degree.

And there are at least 3 of us that have other IM services (Yahoo!, MSN, GoogleChat) that don't want to open each application to do use them. So I'm looking at alternatives.
