Need Help Setting Up a Bulletin Board System

Currently i have Mercury Board loaded onto my web server, but I'm wondering if there is a better/easier BB out there. (that is free) I'm running into some issues, but I dont' know anyone running it, and I'm having a hard time finding answers on their Help Forum.

I'd rather simple > features....since I don't want to spend hours tweaking it.

Suggestions for another free BB?

I have 1and1 Biz hosting....which I believe is on a Windows Server, MySQL, PHP, ASP (i think),etc.

I recommend phpBB2 bulletin boards. Very easy to install. Very customizable too, once you get used to it. You need MySQL, your own database, but that's it, so you should be fine.

I'm currently messing around with Mercury....and I can't get the stupid thing setup. I did everything right (or so I thought). I might just try a few other boards, and whichever one gets setup the easiest....will stick around.

I remember when Wildcat Communicator came out....it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I stayed up all night downloading it from my friend, so I could load it up, and surf his BBS.
