Blue Tooth Assistance. Cell won't synch with Outlook Express on Laptop

Ok here is the situation. Her laptop will not recognize her bluetooth phone when she tries to SYNCH with Outlook

LAPTOP: Sony Vaio S series

OS: Windows XP professional

Dongal: Targus USB bluetooth adapter

Cell: Audiovox smartphone (runs windows mobile 2003)

The Bluetooth on the laptop is working because the blue mouth mouse works just fine.

But when she goes to try to set up a connection with her cell phone, it says the bluetooth adapter is not hooked up

i don' think its her phone, because she can also send files via bluetooth to her computer from her phone

it connects fine...it registers that its connected

She has two icons that have to do with bluetooth in CONTROL PANEL

one that says "bluetooth configuration" and one that says "bluetooth devices"

the bluetooth configuration stuff is accurate

But when she clicks on bluetooth devices and trys to set up a COM PORT, it tells her "the bluetooth radio is not currently plugged in. Please plug in the Bluetooth radio and try task again"

but its CLEARLY plugged in otherwise she wouldn't be able to use her mouse or send files from her phone

Gotta love Windows. "The bluetooth radio is not currently plugged in. Please plug in the Bluetooth radio and try task again"

It took about 30 seconds to sync my v551 to a Powerbook.

Who is your service provider? some companies, such as verizon, disable all bluetooth profiles except headset to force you to use their data, ringtone, and game services.
