ATI PCI Express16 equivalent of ATI 9600XT?

Upgrading the family machine and looked at newegg for a comparible pci express 16 card but there are so many new versions.

Which has at least the same speed and which versions should I stay away from?

Only want to spend max $200.

These are the boards available at newegg:

x300
x300se
x300se hypermemory
x500
x600pro
x600xt
x700
x700pro
x800
x800gt
x800pro
x800se
x800xl
x800xt

any ideas would be appreciated or a site that list comparisons

Thanks

JJ

I would recommend the x800gt, since it's the only sub-$200 PCIE ATi card.

Here's the one I plan on getting

The X600 cards are exactly the same as the 9600 series, just in PCI Express rather then AGP, while the X300 cards are the same as the 9200 series. I haven't been keeping up with all the different versions of each chip since the X800 cards were first released, but it looks like you can get an X800 in that price range and it would be a decent upgrade from your current card in terms of performance.

thanks for the info.

At least I have something to go off now, so I will look for at least the x600 card and maybe the x800 if I can afford it.

Thanks again.
