Ever take your PC (not laptop) with you on a trip?

I'm going to Dallas for the week for business and was thinking of taking my PC with me so I can play WOW or Everquest.. I figure I won't have a ton to do at night and will probably be pretty tired... anyone ever do this? is it a pain or is it worth it? anything obvious i should be aware of, besides making sure to bring all cables/wires/plugs

the case is easy (though still kind of a pain; used to haul it back and forth every few weekends when going to college).
but combined with the monitor, then it becomes a pain. unless you're hooking it up to the tv, then you just need the right cables (and if your video card supports tv out).

i have a flat screen so it's pretty light... would you guys have any concerns about leaving it in hotel room during the day?

Get a gameboy.

I could maybe just lend you a laptop.

I've done it, but I don't really remember the circumstances. And I had a CRT at the time.

If you'll be working till like 6-7, dining with coworkers, it might not be worth it. Sounds like you are travelling alone and in your own car, though. Do you also need it for personal email and posting here? If so, I say go for it!

Is internet free where you are staying?

EDITED TO ADD:

Now I remember. I needed to take a personal trip to St. Louis, but I was on-call and didn't have a laptop. Lugging the CRT up the elevator at the Hyatt was a bitch.

I didn't have much choice then. Sadly, I had to use dialup as well to my work site (it was an 800 number).

Honestly, try it out and see if it's a hassle to you. What the hell?

Then again, i'd just save up for a decent laptop (they are so "cheap" nowadays) and have the best of both worlds.

I'd just be careful of packing around your lcd though. That alone would negate it for me.
