Questions About IPod's/MP3 Players?

1.) With IPod's, can you put music on to one from sites like limewire, bearshare etc.

2.) With other MP3 players can you do that?

3.) Is it easy to add songs to a MP3 Player?

4.) Do you know of a 512 MB MP3 Player for under $100 at a retail store?

1. Yes

2. Yes, they all work pretty much the same, only difference is that only iPods will play songs bought in the iTunes music store. These can be converted to MP3's though, with some hassle.

3. Yes. Most flash players are just drag and drop like a usb drive. Most HD players come with software and you can drag and drop from the folders into the program to load.

4. There are a few in that price range (sandisk for one). But most are lower quality. The exception is the iPod Shuffle. The 512 is $99. The drawback is it has no screen to list track info and no FM tuner or recording. You're better off trying to find a deal on something like a Creative MuVo or iRiver 512 one. They can be had for $115-130 if you look around.

I don't need it to hold a ton of songs, just some for working out at the gym, etc.

That would probably be ok sound wise and Samsung is a decent brand. Though it is flimsy, I checked one out before buying my 512 Muvo and didn't consider it after feeling how flimsy it was at best buy.

I have the 512mb version of this, it can be had for 99 dollars at Best Buy. I love it. It sounds great and so far it has been pretty solid and reliable. I use it while I mow the lawn and work outside so it has taken a beating and is holding up real well.

I would advise you to purchase some other headphones with it though, the ones it comes with are not the greatest. I got a pair of sony ear plug style headphones for 40 bucks at Best Buy and they work very well. It is really simple to learn to use too, it is all drag and drop from windows explorer, no bulky software that is complicated.

The only regret I have is that the 512 megabytes runs out really quick. But for the price, I am not sure if you can beat it.

I just ordered a 1G Sandisk MP3 for my wife for $130 Canadian. For the price that you pay, it has gotten really good reviews, and is small enough that it is good for the gym, running, etc

Well, you can put any music on an iPod or an MP3 player, providing the file corresponds to what the MP3 Player can hold. To add songs you need to have the software, like iTunes for iPod or just a 3rd Party software for it.

Just wanted to point out that the 512 MB iPod shuffle is a little under $100, but the 1 GB iPod is only $25 more... And iPods do play MP3s, just not .wma's (though it can convert .wma files to .acc for you).

I like my iPod shuffle, does what it's supposed to do. Of course, I haven't used any other MP3 players so I have nothing to compare it against.

I love my Creative MuVo TX FM (what a ridiculous name). I use it all the time, much more than my Rio Karma. It's about the same price as the Shuffle.

Yeah, the shuffles are great buys. As long as you don't need/want a screen and/or fm tuning and recording I reccomend them. Their price is great for the capacity and quality for those not needing those features.

A screen is a must for me though, so I spend an extra $25 and got a 512 MuVo. I randomly fill it so I like to be able to glance down at the song title when something pops up that I don't remember as I haven't heard it in ages.

The 512 MB MuVo TX FM is about 75 bucks at Dell right now too. Great deal, and i'm finally going to pick one up The screen and FM is fairly important to me, so it seems far more attractive then a Shuffle.

Probably. It's a great deal though, so just have it shipped to your work or a realtive/friends.

well I just ordered one anyway....if it's a non usps carrier they'll come to the house, otherwise, the advantage of a very small town and a dvd addiction is that they know me at the PO and my name alone will get it in my po box

Thanks!! I can't imagine getting a better deal on one.

I bought the Samsung YP-F1x.
Sturdy design (metal clip built into player, I just clip it onto my waist and I forget its there), FM Tuner, rechargeable battery (charges via USB port on PC)

I would get a Shuffle. That's what I use at the gym. I mean, how often are you going to look at a screen to see what song is playing if you're working out?
