Program to completely uninstall programs?

I'm going to be setting up a new computer tomorrow and I want to keep it as clean as possible - registry, directories, etc.

However, I know a lot of programs install themselves and then refuse to uninstall every key, file, and/or directory.

I seem to recall stumbling over programs that can monitor installations and make sure everything is uninstalled correctly, however, I have no idea what they may be called, so I'm not quite sure what to search for.

Also, I'll be running WinXP Pro 64 if that makes a difference (there probably isn't an XP64 specific program), so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

For those curious, see updated sig

Now....just waiting on FedEx tomorrow....

Registry Mechanic is supposed be good for clearing out registry entries that are left behind or not used.

That TotalUninstall looks pretty nice - thanks for the link. It looks like you just run the install programs through TotalUninstall? Hopefully I don't forget with an item or two
