Ripping CDs to HD?

I want to rip my CDs to my hard drive as mp3s. I thought I could do it with winamp? How? Thanks a lot.

Search this forum for "ripping." There are countless threads with everything you'd ever want to know.

Short answer, CDex as the front-end, with LAME as the MP3 encoder.

Lately I've been using Audiograbber with the latest LAME codec (Have to download it seperately and then pop the .dll into the directory)...Works excellent. I used to use dbPowerAMP but its no longer 100% free. But my dad recently enquired about a good way to rip his CD collection to mp3 and he's loving the above mentioned method.

I've always used Audiograbber as well, and it's now freeware. You do have to do that additional step of dl'ing the LAME .dll, but that's an extra two minutes.

I use EAC and Lame. Here's a great "How-To" site http://www.bestmp3guide.com/
