Is there a way to find my XP serial number?

I recently got a Gateway. It comes with a reinstall partition. Due to problems with Viruses and Worms in the past, I'll usually format and reload my OS every 6 months or so. I have have an extra XP disc from work for the OS but I'll need my serial number. With XP everything seems to be a big secret. I don't mind having my OS backed up on my hard drive, but I always prefer to have a disc. What if the HD craps the bed after the warranty is over?

Any suggestions?

Nothing wrong with it that I can see since it just finds your own serial number. Just as Belarc Advisor does.

If Gateway is like Dell, it should have a sticker on the side of the case with the cd key. The key finder programs may only be finding the gateway boot image cd key used for many other computers. I'm sure both keys will work fine. The dell reinstall cd didn't ask me for a cd key so gateway should be the same way.
