Video problem. Screen gets wavy.

I just put together a new computer and now my screen shimmers and gets wavy. Mostly just the edges of the screen. It doesn't do it all the time just whenever but usually lasts a few min. Any ideas? I never had any problems with my video card before this.

Specs

Biostar Ideq
VIA KM400 + VT8237 chipset
ATI Radeon 9100
XP 1700+
80gig WD
Sony DVDRW
17 inch KDS CRT

If you have access to another machine, you could try hooking the monitor up to the other machine and see if the problem persists there. If it does, obviously there's an issue with the monitor. Sometimes just degaussing the monitor can clear up some issues. Not sure if you've done that or not.

Try moving your speakers further away from the monitor.

I dont have any speakers hooked up to it yet. My monitor worked fine a few weeks ago. The mobo went out on my old computer so it's the same monitor and videocard I have been using for over a year now with no problems. Maybe it's something with the new mobo?
