no run- key in XP registry? or, how to remove entries from msconfig?

I have a few msconfig entries that are unchecked and would like to remove from msconfig. in win98 I'd just go to the run- key and delete the key entries
there is no run- key that I can find. even searching the registry for the text of the entries turns up nothing
so, how can I get rid of these entries
and don't say uninstall the programs, as I already have
