Question about freedb and collisions

Like many others, I use freedb along with Exact Audio Copy to get my CD music data onto my computer. I have noticed lately that a number of my submissions (I only do this if the CD is not found) to freedb get rejected for the following reason:

Discid collision in category xxxx (with xxxx being say "rock")

I realize this is due to the fact that there are now so many CDs in freedb's database that despite using the track count + track times as a unique identifier, there are some different CDs that appear to be the same one.

My question is, when I stick some CDs in the drive and bring up freedb I see multiple entries. So, I am assuming there is a way to submit a CD even if it already exists in the freedb database. If so, what's the trick to doing this? Another way of putting it, how do I successfully submit a CD that freedb thinks already exists and thus causes a "clash"?

I hate to think some CDs will never be listed due to these clashes. Thanks for any light you can shed

Music Talk is primarily for talk about musicians and their music rather than the media they use: as a general rule, software/hardware questions/discussions belong in Tech Talk.
