Video card upgrade question

Hi,
I have a Geforce 3 video card. It handle most games I play alright, but it could be better. It has some slowdown when playing C&C Generals, but handles Call of Duty quite well in medium settings.

I am thinking of getting a Radeon 9600Xt. Is this card a lot better than the Geforce 3?

Thanks

I just upgrade to a Radeon 9800 Pro and it plays every game nicely. I can almost have all the settings turned up on Rome Total War. It is amazing what a video card can do. Raven Shield was almost unplayable at 800 by 600 resolution using my 9000 all-in-wonder card, now I have all the settings turned on high and the game runs like a champ.
