Playing songs from laptop through my receiver

I want to be able to listen to songs from my laptop through my home theater system. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

You can hook up your speaker/headphone-out to the receiver but it would be best if you had a digital-out. There are add-in cards and USB devices that you can use to provide a digital interface.

I have a nifty little Onkyo USB device that hooks up through USB and provides an optical output.

If your receiver has a 1/8" stereo input port then use something like this http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=42%2D2387

If your receiver has the red and white rca inputs then use something like this http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=42%2D2551

Just attach to your laptop's headphone/line-out.
