Best Spyware Programs?

What are the best spyware programs? I currently use Spybot and Ad-Aware. Does anyone have any recommendations for any additional anti-spyware programs?

Spybot and Ad-Aware are the best you should throw Spyware Blaster in there as well SpyGuaurd. I have all 4 programs running on my system.

Best Anti-Spyware defense: Yourself.

Other than that, I'd suggest the two you mentioned.

have you used the 2 apps that i've mentioned. they're different from adaware and spybot. they stop the intrusion from happening in the first place.
what gets through, is dealt with adaware and spybot.

i have the host file thing going as well.

I have use spybot and norton anti virus. After running those I go to www.pestpatrol.com nd run the free check. (use explorer as a browser cuz I tired netscape 7.2 and it will not run the free check)

Pest patrol found a few adware programs and a trojan the other programs did not. You can either buy pest patrol for about $39 and it will clean your system itself or do as I did, just keep the window open and search for each line in your registry or wherever the program lies and delete it yourself.

Second (third?) vote for AdAware.

RE Spybot - The last two times I downloaded and ran Spybot it never finished running, locked up the puter and forced a reboot. The second time I re-ran it after a Norton AV/FW update and Norton picked up on the fact that Spybot was trying to run all sorts of spyware that it was finding(!). Maybe this is the way it sorts/tests them but I gave up on Spybot at that point, never again.

More votes for Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Spyware Blaster.

HijackThis is good too if you know what to remove and what not to.

Spyware Blaster blocks spyware like Spybot does, only it also puts blocking into effect for Mozilla / Firefox where I think Spybot only does IE.
