PowerDVD 5 Screen Grab DPI Problems

Hi everyone (this is my first post here ). I need to take some screen grabs of a DVD for a school project and I need them to be quality. I am using PowerDVD 5. I set the screen grab resolution settings as high as it would go (2000x1500) and got some nice shots. When I open them up in Photoshop they are huge (which is good). However, they have a DPI of only 2.5!! I changed this in Photoshop to 300 DPI (which is what I need) but the photos are now much smaller and still look pixellated. Does anyone know how to take higher DPI shots also at a high resolution? Or any other program that takes high res & DPI grabs? Thanks for any help!

DVD resolution is 720x480, no matter how big you set the player to. Anything other then that size and something (the software, the hardware) is resizing it.

edit: oops, got my resolutions mixed up

Where did you get those dimensions?

I was under the impression that it was 720x480 I tried taking shots that size and the DPI was still only 2.5 That's one of the reasons I am so confused. I don't know if it's something I am doing wrong, or it's just not possible with PowerDVD 5

It's something you're doing. Screen grabs I've done in PowerDVD come up at 72 DPI in PhotoShop and I can change that easily.

What are your screen capture settings in PowerDVD?

I set it at max resolution (2000 x 1500 for 4:3 and 2000 x 1125 for 16:9) and all I get are 2.5 DPI images. I tried a lower resolution than the source video at about 640 x 480 and I still only got 2.5 DPI. Is it maybe because I am using PowerDVD 5? Is that a limitation of that version of the program?

When I have made screenshots with Power DVD 5, they always come up as 72 DPI in Photoshop.

I have Power DVD 5 set up to take snapshots using "Original Video Source Size".

If you need them to be 300 DPI for printing, you can resample them in Photoshop.
