Looking for a free ftp program that is easy to use.

This will be my first shot at setting up an FTP site. Any FTP program you guys know of that would make a NOOB like myself seem easy? I have Frontpage 2002, can this be used or is it only for creating webpages?

Search first?

Anyhoo...my favorite is Leech FTP, it's no longer updated, but it is easy to use and works very well.

We just reinstalled and I looked for 2 of my favorites and they are apparently now short-term use software. Have to look some more. May try Blakes's suggestion.

The two were the Ipswitch WS_FTP program and cuteFTP.

Filezilla. Works mostly well unless you're uploading huge files (> 15 megs). Also, it doesn't work with some FTP servers. But since it's free, it's worth just downloading and trying it out.

just a little while ago i asked the same question...turns out win XP is an ftp program. works pretty well too.

just type fttp://[email protected]www.website.com into an explorer window. a password box will appear and after that you're in. then drag files from/to your pc/website.

That's why I said it was not free. But when using it before it was, although I believe it had been awhile.

You meant to say ftp, not fttp...

Or just open a command prompt and type ftp and use the command line version. Works everywhere on most every computer you'll run across. And knowing how to do command line FTP is far more useful anyway.
