"Could not load openGL subsystem..."

I'm runnin a 3.0 ghz, 1gb ram, 128mb geforce 5200 fx, win xp pro.

Whenever I try to play quake 3 with resolution above 1280x1024, i get an error that says it cannot load open gl subsystem.

I have the latest drivers for my video card.
I looked at my win.ini file for the DVA=0 line, but it is not there, so that is not the problem either.
I even tried puttin the opengl32.dll's in quake3's main directory, but that did not work.
My acceleration is set to full.

So i am clueless. help?
