Getting subtitles for avi files to work

Getting subtitles for avi files to work

i downloaded this video and it came with subtitile files but it has no subtitiles.

there are two parts to the video, each video came with two files. [videofilename].sub and [videofilename].idx i went to another subtitled video and it has those two files but an additional one called [videofilename].ifo. however this video did not come with ifo files, i'm not sure what i'm talking about but how do i get the subtitles to work

If you're using MS Media Player, you need a filter like vobsub to show the subtitles.

Or you can use a Media Player like Media Player Classic that supports it natively.

BTW, these files don't infringe on any copyrights right? We can't help you if that's the case.

oh never mind i fixed the problem, the sub files had a slightly different name than the real file.
