How to rename a WinXP service?

Is there a way to rename a service in Windows XP? Back in Win2k, it was a simple matter of typing a new name for the service in its corresponding Properties dialog box in the Services applet. Thanks.

Open Regedit.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Find the service, then change DisplayName.

Use at your own risk.
