Linksys cable modem dead! Help.

This is now my second Linksys modem that has gone kaput on me. Of course I tossed the box and original receipt two weeks ago when I moved. Bad move.

Anyway. Any recommendations? I picked up a Motorola but haven't opened it yet. Wanted to hear some opinions.

Other question. Does the Apple Airport Extreme come with a cable modem built in? Or is it strickly a router?

Thanks.

The Motorola surfBoard modems are among the highest rated.

Looks like the Airport includes a modem, but its 56k, not cable:

Extremely powerful and easy to set up and use, AirPort Extreme offers the perfect wireless solution for home, business or school. Using the 54 Mbps IEEE 802.11g wireless standard, it delivers data rates nearly five times faster than the 802.11b standard. The AirPort Extreme Base Station serves up to 50 Mac and Windows users simultaneously. And it comes complete with all the connectivity you need including ports for a DSL or cable modem or a local area network, a 56K V.90 modem, a USB port and range-extending antenna connector to create the wireless world of your dreams.
