Outlook Express tool bar dissappeared after install of AVG

I installed AVG Antivirus a couple of weeks ago and ever since then, my toolbar is closed. I can move to the far left and drag it open again, but it's a PITA! Anyone else here experience this and if so, what's the cure (short of AVG removal)?

Yes, it's checked. That was the first thing I thought of.

Any other advice?

Never used OE, much less its toolbar, so this is a total shot in the dark, but maybe it's gotten confused about how it's set? Have you tried changing the view setting to another position or off or something and then changing it back? If that doesn't work, you might want to try changing the setting, shutting down and rebooting, and then changing it back. Couldn't hurt. Well, probably couldn't hurt. :-)

uninstall AVG (keep the serial (CD Key), re-boot, see is OE is still giving you problems, re-install avg or try another scanner. I use to use AVG but switched to Avast Free Edition

I never had an issue with AVG when I had it, though
