Tv-Out from Radeon not working

I have an ATI Radeon 9600XT with S-video out. Sound output is fine with the leads coming from my soundcard, just the video will not work. I've followed the steps on the ATI website but can't get it to recognize that a cable is connected. The S-video lead goes directly into my TV, and it is surely plugged in. I have installed the newest catalyst drivers as well.

Did you switch the output source to TV?

Instructions: Right click on your desktop and click Properties, then click the Settings tab, and hit Advanced, then hit the Displays tab and make sure the TV is on...sometimes you can bypass this lenghty process by hitting ALT + F5, depending upon your setup.

Hopefully this helps...good luck.
