Whats up with Verizon newsgroups?

1. Anyone use them, wha they like?

2. I just downloaded agent after everyone here was raving about usenet for P2P, and I cant get on, its saying my verizon username and password is rejected...the tech support tool (first bad Verizon tech support yet) never even heard of it...should I be doing something different, or is there a technical problem?

BTW...outlook express gives me the same result.

1. I heard verizon's newsgroups are pretty good.
2. Agent is decent, but for newbies I recommend Grab-it ( www.shemes.com ) For advanced users I'd recommend Newsbin Pro.
3. DO NOT USE outlook express for newgroups, it's like trying to write your thesis with notepad (it'll work, but it doesn't do a very good job).

Did you setup everything correctly? It's usually pretty simple getting the initial setup going. Run through the tutorial for your software on how to set it up.

1) Verizon newsgroups have been fairly good to me for the last 4 years with my DSL connection. Lately, it's suckekeke but this normally last too long.

2) You need to specify your Verizon user ID and password. Also, make sure your newsgroup is pointing to port 119. If you have that already, goto Verizon website, login and make sure that account has the newsgroup option enable.

No problems with my Verizon newsgroups either. Pretty good retention.

THANK YOU!!!

None of the customer service tools knew enough to have me enable newsgroups in my account!!!!!
