Google.com redirecting??

I live in Canada and everytime I access http://www.google.com from my computer, it automatically changes to google.ca. As far as I know their is no difference whatsoever, except when google.com puts up their new logos, I cannot see it. However, when I am at work, google.com pops up no problem. How come?

A random guess would be that you are using rogers.ca or some other isp which resolves as distinctly canadian at home while your work ip is a .com and geographically nondescript.

Do you use the Google Toolbar? There is an option there where you set the default Google home page to any of about 50 countries (Canada being one of them).

It seems like there's a way to fix that. For awhile, google would redirect me to google.ca at work. That's because I work at a Canadian company although my location is in the US, and everything is routed back through Canada.
