Bios

I recently put together I computer and when I boot it up, there is a message that I need to take a look at CMOS, where I go then to check on the BIOS. As I am scrolling through the options it freezes and I am forced to power on/off the comp. Any ideas on how to fix this or what the problem is?

Only time I've ever had that problem was when the CPU was overheating. Check that the heatsink is mounted correctly and that the fan is spinning.
