how much more pc protection is needed?

I am trying to secure my pc as much as I can. I am running the following on my pc:

NAV 2003 - up to date
Spywareblaster - up to date
Spyware Guard - up to date
ZoneAlarm(free) - version 5.0......

is there some other program I should be using or is there a program that is better than I currently have?

I also make sure I check windows update every few days.

If you're running WinXP I'd recommend going through this website and turning off any services you don't need.

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

Also, check out this list from TechTV

oops. I did the Blackviper stuff a long time ago. no wonder I forgot about that.

I also use AdAware and keep that up to date as well. I cab't get Spybot to work on my pc. it keeps freezing up.

Personally, I think education is the best protection. Somebody who understands when to dis/allow ZoneAlarm and that they shouldn't open attachments will be much better off than a well-protected system being used by somebody who doesn't know what they're doing.

No offense intended.

I never open any email attachments no matter who they come from. I am more concerned about the stuff that can invade my system without my intervening.
