Monitor Advice Needed

I've been getting into image and video editing (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, etc.) lately, but I'm getting frustrated with my monitor. I have a 17" Sony Trinitron, but I quickly have a cramped workspace with a few windows and pallettes open. So, I'm thinking about getting a bigger monitor. I also do a moderate amount of gaming on my PC.

Please give me some insight, particularly if you do image/video editing too, about: CRT vs LCD, 17" vs 19" vs 20", resolutions, etc.

Thanks!

if you are into gaming, and need more screen realestate, I would highly recommend a CRT model of at least 21" in size. If you go LCD, it can limit your resolutions in games.

A good CRT still edges out an LCD for color reproduction. Not only because of the LCD viewing-angle issues, but also LCDs have smaller color gamuts and a fixed 8-bit color display model.
