IE won't load pages

Hey all. I went throuh and cleaned out some spyware, and somehow in the process disabled IE from working. It refuses to load any of my bookmarks, or any websites I type in.

If for example I type in www.dvdtalk.com it will try that, then .net, then .org, and then it will go to an error page. Is this a virus or did I accidently erase something?

Try this - go to tools --> internet options --> advanced and scroll down to "search from the address bar." select either "do not search from the address bar" or "just go to the most likely site"

(not sure if it will do anything but i've read a similar problem before and that was the solution given)
