I need to boost the signal on a sound file. Any ideas?

I have a conversation with 2 people on a sound recorder. I plugged it into my sound card's "line in" and recorded it to the computer. It transfers over with decent quality (considering the sample and the device itself)

The one person is taking pretty low. Is there any way to make the sound file itself louder, without just TURNING THE SPEAKERS UP??

Can I even isolate the one voice and make it louder so they are both easy to hear and at roughly the same levels?

I have cool edit pro 2.0 if that helps

Thanks all!

http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/index.htm

edit: actually i guess this may not help much. It will adjust the level of the entire mp3.

Highlight the whole thing, and normalize it to 100%. You could also use compression (under Signal Processing?)

If you boost the whole thing to 100%, then want to raise the "lower" voice higher, just highlight the lower persons voice and normalize that section to 100%. It will sound different during the transitions though.
