MS Office 2003 Question

I just had my office computer upgraded with Office 2003. When I start up each program, the left side of the screen has that little "getting started" area that you have to close. In previous versions, there was a check box at the bottom that said "show this a start up" or something like that and it would go away if you unchecked it.

However, there is no such option in 2003, and I can find nothing to turn it off in the options.

Any help?

I know it can be done. I will look when I get home and see if I can find the option. I actually went back to office XP. I did not like the way 2003 looks or works (for me).

Easy:

Click Tools
Select Options
(If it's not already selected, select the View tab)
Deselect "Startup Task Pane"
Click OK
