erasing porn

How can traces of porn on a computer be erased, other than clearing history, or cookies? I thought of posting this in the tech forum, but then those aren't adult friendly forums.. thanks for your help.

Get a program like Window Washer or Evidence Eliminator, that will help some.

Howdy teenager!

Clear the history, the temporary internet files, and delete the cookies and you should be fine. This clears about everything and should suffice for anything but the most detailed and intensive searches.

You just gotta word your post accordingly for the specific forum:

"I'm selling my computer to a friend at work and I wanted to make sure he couldn't look at some of my old files. Short of formating the HD what products work the best?"

This way, you'll get the help you need without having to worry about content.... of course they'll still assume you mean porn

We don't care what you're trying to get rid of in Tech Talk. We just don't want to see your pictures there.

But that's the appropriate place to ask a technical question.

I've always found using liquid paper is the best porn eraser.

I would probably use Ad-aware to get rid of all adware and porn dialers and whatnot that you probably picked up from going to porn sites.

I use AntiSpy since it can also clean the dat file and other recent history. Get SpyBot S&D. Turn on Advanced Mode. Run Immunize. Then scroll down to the bottom, and check all three boxes (lock Hosts, lock IE home page, etc).

I think the index.dat file has already been mentioned and some software recommended. Another standalone index.dat remover is: iecache2.js

But elsewhere I have seen the following alternatives recommended:
