making a table stationary?

hi there. i'm working on my dvd site and want a stationary header for the page. however, i do NOT want it in a separate frame. In case you are curious as to why i have an aversion to frames it is because i have an ssl-enabled system, and cannot maintain the same session id in multiple frames. is there some javascript or something that would allow me to have my header.php file not move w/o having to stick it in another frame? thanks in advance!

i used css:

example: http://www.stunicholls.myby.co.uk/layouts/frame.html

it uses postition:fixed for mozilla and position:absolute for ie5. very cool.
