2 questions. One CPU related. Other Win 2000.

1. Should I be worried about my CPU temps? It hit 120 degrees F at idle last night. 1700+ XP o/c to 2.1 ghz. I have a Speeze fan. Maybe it isn't the best thng though. What is a good CPU fan? I might just get another one and see how it works. I have a new Cheftec case coming with plenty of fans so maybe that would help?

2. Do I need to restart the computer to change the IP address of a network card in Win 2000?

1. I would check the recommended temps for your CPU...although with an overclocked CPU I guess all bets are off. Someone else could probably offer better assistance with this, but I never worry with CPU temps unless I start to notice stability problems.

2. No

As for the CPU... i wouldnt worry until your CPU is hitting over 60 - 65 degrees C. 65 is about when my old 1800+ started causing stability issues. But like mtucker said, if its not causing any issues i wouldn't worry about it.

You might be prompted to restart the computer if you change I.P. settings while the network card is disabled. If you change the settings while the card is enabled then they should take effect immediately. Hope that made sense.
