Changing desktop font color in XP?

Anyone know how to change the color of the font on the desktop icons in XP? It seems u can change the size but the color option is grayed out if you go to display properties, appearance, advanced, and the icon. any ideas?

I don't believe a method to do that is included with Windows. I believe Windows automatically chooses the most appropriate color for the font depending on the color of your desktop (not the wallpaper). You have a couple of choices:

- Try different desktop colors—found under Display control panel -> Appearance tab -> Desktop item—until Windows automatically chooses a font color to your liking.

- Download a third-party utility—like Iconoid—that actually lets you specify your preferred font color.

Hope that helps.
