Help with Word

Ok, so just about two days ago, I began having problems with MS Word, among other applications on my desktop. The problem is relatively simple to explain:

Everything takes FOREVER to load up!!

We're talking at least 30-45 seconds for a word file to open.

What's going on here?

try running a search on your system...dont forget to include hidden files and system folders for:

normal.dot

delete all entries (usually only one) then restart the computer and run word again. It should be hella faster...unless your word is hella ****ed up.

New question regarding Word X for Mac:

Is there any way to set it so that whenever I save a document, it automatically saves another copy to a different hard drive? It would make backing up so much easier, it would.

I looked in the preferences and all I could see was a "Save Backup Copy" but that just saves it to the same folder as the original, which sorta defeats the purpose, no?

I want to be able to save my files to an external HD as well as the internal.

Thanks!
