HELP, Questions about DVD-R

I am deciding which DVD-R brand to buy and I have really no clue what brand is good and what brand is not. Here are some of the brands that I am looking to buy.

1. Matrix
2. Digital HQ
3. Sonic.

Are these crappy brands? And if so, which brand should I use.

Thanx.

Ritek G04s all the way, only about 70-80 cents a disc.

go to a place like meritline.com and get a media sample pack so you can see which kind your burner likes.

You can find reviews of media here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia

First it was vcdhelp, then dvdrhelp, now videohelp!

I don't know if this helps, but I have a TDK 880 External multi-format drive and I use Memorex +R and Ritek G04 - R discs. These play fine in both of my Sony DVD players (560D and NC655P) as well as my Playstation 2.

You have to look at both ends, the burner and the player. I bought a few sonix discs and my burner had no problem with it. But only one of my DVD players would recognize and play it all the time.

With my Ritek G04's, they play in every DVD drive/player I've tried. I usually buy them at www.supermediastore.com, good pricing and quick shipment.

Is there another vendor for this particular Ritek brand? supermediastore.com has been sold out since I saw your recommendation.

Try Newegg for the Riteks. They were $40 for a 50 pack. I've burned over 150 of them and have had no problems.

Places I've ordered Ritek's from:
Newegg - Great all around, but prices are slightly higher
Supermediastore - Good service and some of the best prices.
Meritline - Good service and decent prices
Shop4tech - Some of the best prices, but very slow shipping.

Newegg currently has 50pk DVD-R Ritek for $40.99 shipped. Ridata is the same as Ritek.

Supermediastore has 50pk for $39.50 shipped and 100pk for $69 shipped.
