Google.com---Keeps redirecting me to GrabItFast.net?

Anyone else having this problem? Whenever I type in Google.com, it immediately re-directs me to grabitfast.net.

Annoying.

That's just a myth. You can't get a disease from grabbing it, no matter how fast you grab it.

Seantn, it sounds like spyware. Try downloading and running Spybot or Ad-aware, two very good free spyware/adware destroying utilities.

Step 1: Download Ad-Aware.
Step 2: Run Ad-Aware

Edit: What Jason said.

My bet is on a hijacked "hosts" file - which neither adaware or spybot will fix during a routine scan.

BigPete, I think that you're right. What can I do to fix it? I did the spyware and adware thing, and sure enough I still can't go to google. It keeps re-directing me to that stupid grabitnow.net site.

you think that would take care of a extra toolbar on IE? I run both Ad-Aware and Spybot and that toolbar doesn't go away.

Search your pc for a file named hosts w/ no extension. It should be in your windows dir and there may be multiple instances. Open the files with notepad and look for any lines that make reference to google. Delete the offending lines and save the file. You should be all set. Or you can delete the files altogether.

it's a extra toolbar on IE right below the search bar, that has links you can click on for "Online Poker" etc, I can get it go away by going View>>Toolbars and taking the check out of it and then locking the toolbar, but I'd like to get rid of it all together and neither ad-aware or spybot are picking anything up.

This probably sounds like a dumb question but did you run update on Spy-bot and Adaware before you scanned? I'm just asking because I've seen numerous redirectes like this and they were always cleanded with Spy-Bot.

Also did you clear your cache?

Not a dumb question at all. Just dumb people.

That's the first thing that popped into my head. That and people using their cdrom drives as cupholders. *shudder*
