STAY away from Norton, it is a resouce pig. ZA is better, If you are running a router with NAT, you have a basic firewall there as well.

Also what O/S are you running?

The first step in bettering you computer experence is to dump Windows ME. ME is ther WORST O/S that MS has produced since windows 3.0. Depending on the specs of you computer XP will rub much better. Plus it has a free firewall that works fairly well.

NO problem, you caught me on a pretty slow day

OK you should have no problems with XP, I would upgrade your memory to 256MB before upgrading the O/S. I would also do a clean install as opposed to an upgrade. That means backing up your data, formatting the drive and installing windows, applications, and then restoring your data. It is a lot of work, but well worth it in terms of reliability.

Go here to check compatibility
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...ng/advisor.asp

And here to get more memory
http://www.crucial.com

You should be able to input your Viao model # and it will tell you what memory to buy. Don't buy generic memory to save 10-20 $ it’s not worth it.

Hope this helps.
