how to get that little image that appears in ie next to a url?

how to get that little image that appears in ie next to a url?

where on my server do i put an image, and what size, to make it appear like this?

They're called Favicon's .. you can do a google search and get a load of info on them.

There's a long way around that. Generally they save themselves in the cache and you can find them, copy them to the windows system folder and then you can do a right click properties on the shortcut and then change icon, and point it to where you copied the favicon to.

I used to go through the trouble, but i've been reinstalling so often lately that i havn't bothered.

Thanks for the tip. I had heard about a workaround like that, but it doesn't sound like it's worth the trouble, especially since I'd like my favicon to show up in other users browsers/favorites and I highly doubt they would go through that.

I tried the long way once until I realized that when I tried to backup all the icon files that were almost all of the same name. You would have to rename each one individually before copying them to a new folder otherwise they just overwrite each one.
