How can I boost my download speed?

On my old computer, with a dial-up connection, I usually got around 3-4 KB/sec on average when I was downloading. Now, on my new computer, I still have dial-up, but when I download things, it usually hovers around 1-2 KB/sec. Is there anything I can do or download that can boost my KB/sec rate?

Yes, order broadband internet. Hell, even the 384kb type will do.

Yes, go to download.com and check up on some of the internet download maximizer tools/utils. I mean the ones that will help you configure your dialup to it's max potential. Hopefully you will get something close to your old speeds (assuming everything is equal).

I had a prog a long time ago ... can't remember what it was. Seemed to work a bit.

I moved to DSL and haven't looked back. It's certainly more expensive but it's worth it to me. Can't go back unless I had no choice.
